Media Invited to James D. Ball Athletic Complex Kickoff and Carroll Lynx Soccer Doubleheader
WHAT
Carroll Community College will host a community kickoff celebration marking the opening of the James D. Ball Athletic Complex. The event will recognize the public-private partnership and community support that made the facility possible and will launch the Carroll Lynx 2026 home athletic season.
WHEN
Thursday, September 17, 2026
• 2:30 p.m. — Faculty and Staff First Lap
• 3 p.m. — Guest arrivals
• 3:05 p.m. — Welcome and remarks
• 3:15–4 p.m. — Community kickoff activities
• 4 p.m. — Men’s soccer vs. Allegany College of Maryland
• 6 p.m. — Women’s soccer vs. Allegany College of Maryland

WHY
The $5.6 million complex represents a significant investment in student experience, athletics, and community engagement. The facility includes a synthetic turf field, eight-lane running track, track-and-field event areas, spectator seating, and sports lighting for evening competitions and community activities.
