The City of Westminster is seeking a Help Desk Technician to join our Information Technology team. This is a great opportunity for someone early in their career who enjoys problem-solving, technology, and helping people.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Be the first point of contact for City employees needing technical help
- Troubleshoot and resolve basic hardware, software, and network issues
- Set up computers, install software, and support phones, printers, and mobile devices
- Track requests using a help desk ticketing system and escalate when needed
- Assist with user accounts, passwords, and basic network administration
- Train and support users so they feel confident using their technology
Required Skills and Knowledge:
- High school diploma or GED
- 1–2 years of hands-on experience with computers or IT support (school, internships, or entry-level roles welcome)
- Basic knowledge of Windows, Microsoft Office, and common devices
- Strong customer service skills and the ability to explain technical issues clearly
- Willingness to learn, ask questions, and grow your technical skills
- CompTIA A+ or Network+ is a plus—but not required
Compensation and Benefits:
- Rate based on experience: $23.00 - $25.00 per hour; non-exempt.
