Topic: Bridging the Generational Divide: Understanding and Collaborating Across Ages in the Workplace

Your ideas about “how things should be” are shaped by the era you grew up in—and so are everyone else’s. With five generations currently in the workforce, each bringing unique strengths, challenges, and perspectives, it’s more important than ever to understand how we’re wired differently. This session explores how generational values influence workplace dynamics and offers practical strategies for improving communication, collaboration, and mutual respect across age groups.

About Our Speaker: April Herring is a speaker, educator, and leadership coach with a passion for helping people bridge divides and build authentic, collaborative relationships—especially in the workplace. With over three decades of experience in higher education and organizational development,  April specializes in fostering communication, collaboration, and helps others lead with both clarity and compassion. Known for blending insight, warmth, and humor, April creates engaging spaces where people feel seen and empowered to grow—both individually and together.

Directions

Rt 31 to Old New Windsor Pike. Right on Luther Drive. Left at the first stop sign (St. James Way). The building and Gazebo will be on the right. Parking will be in that area as well as a bit further down that road in the lot in front of our dog park. (Refer to Community Map and park at Letter Q).
